airBaltic starts cooperation with the disc golf park in Riga

Latvian airline airBaltic has announced that in cooperation with the company Ufogolf the disc golf parks in Mežapark (Riga, Latvia) will henceforth be called airBaltic.

Disc golf, also known as frisbee golf, has become one of the fastest growing sports in the world, especially in countries like Estonia, Finland and Sweden. It’s a great outdoor activity for the whole family to enjoy all year round.

In order to popularize this affordable and exciting outdoor activity in Latvia and attract Nordic travelers to Riga, airBaltic has decided to cooperate with the largest disc golf park in Riga, which is located in Mežaparks. The park, which is located in a beautiful and peaceful area of Riga in a pine forest, offers a unique opportunity to spend several hours in a healthy and peaceful environment. In addition, the pine trees create natural obstacles that add extra challenge and strategy to the game.

In connection with airBaltic’s commitment to take care of its loyal customers and the goal of attracting new members to its loyalty program, airBaltic Club members will have special benefits in this park. Namely, airBaltic Club members are entitled to one free game per month. In addition, the offer includes unlimited free access to the park for VIP and Executive members, as well as Planies NFT holders.

AirBaltic Loyalty and Partnerships Department Manager Māris Rudens states: “airBaltic Disc Golf Park reflects our commitment to offer a diverse and engaging experience to our loyalty program members. airBaltic stands for high-quality and meaningful leisure time that unites, so we are pleased to provide a place where sports enthusiasts and families can gather and enjoy disc golf.”

airBaltic Disc Golf Park offers a rich playing experience with two specially designed courses. The main court with 19 baskets (estimated playing time 2-3 hours) is tailored for experienced players, while the beginner’s court with 10 baskets (estimated playing time 1-1.5 hours) is ideal for those just starting to enjoy the sport. The park, known as the Ufogolf course, already has a history of its own, having been established in 2013 and has hosted many local and international tournaments. The Ufogolf company will continue to manage this park, which will now bear the airBaltic name.

Adding to the park’s exciting features, the airBaltic brand will be visible throughout the park, creating a visually unified and attractive environment for visitors.

Disc golf is a sport in which players throw a disc at a target following rules similar to traditional golf. The goal is to play each “hole” (here – a basket) with as few shots as possible. Like golf, disc golf usually has 18 holes, or in this case baskets, and the goal of the players is to hit each target with as few shots as possible. Instead of golf clubs and balls, players use specially designed discs to hit into disc golf carts.
